What makes these boots so special?

PawZ boots are disposable, reusable, and 100% biodegradable. The package comes with 12 boots. When one wears out, you simply toss it.

Will my dog like them?

Your dog WILL WEAR PawZ boots.  Whether it’s because there are no zippers or straps, or because there is no padding, dogs accept wearing PawZ dog boots even when they won’t wear other brands.  Feeling the ground through the boot is what gives your dog that needed sense of security.

How do these boots stay on?

They gently hug your dog’s paws like a sock, and stay there until you’re ready to take them off.

Are these boots waterproof or just water-resistant?

PawZ are waterproof.  No other boot protects against liquid chloride and other liquid hazards.

Will my dog be comfortable?

Like a sock, PawZ moves with your dog, allowing for full paw motion and maximum comfort.  Without padding or sole, PawZ allows your dog to feel the ground, providing the needed sense of security not possible with a typical dog boot.  This is the main reason why dogs that won’t wear dog boots will wear PawZ.

What do these boots protect against?

Ice, Lawn Chemicals, Salt, Liquid Chloride, Snow, Fire Ants, Pool Liner Tears, Mud, Clay, Pad Rashes, Post-Surgical Infection, Post-Grooming Dirt, Hot Pavement, and they solve traction control problems.

Are these boots about fashion or function?

While they are very fashionable, PawZ was designed to be functional.  Form follows function to create serious paw protection for your dog.  These are protective boots, not a fashion accessory.  Made of natural rubber, PawZ boots are biodegradable.  And being environmentally green is always in fashion.

Are there any safety tips?

Your best friend’s health and safety is important to us.  That why we got into this business in the first place.  So there are a few things we think you should know in order to experience success maintaining paw health with PawZ Dog Boots. PawZ Dog Boots are waterproof.  Since water can’t get in, it also can’t get out.  Since your dog sweats through the paw, you will often find the paw moist after removing the boot.  For this reason, do not leave the boots on for an extended period of time. Please remove when your dog is resting or inactive.  Dogs should be supervised while wearing boots.  If PawZ are being used with a medical bandage, please be sure to purchase a larger size than usual to accommodate the increased diameter of the leg and surgical bandage.  Please be extra diligent if you or your dog has an existing infection and/or circulation problems, as extended use can exacerbate these conditions.  If you have any questions on the proper use of the boots, please contact or call 718-369-8883.

Will they protect paws from hot summer pavement?

Yes! PawZ boots shield your dog’s sensitive paw pads from scorching sand, too.

Will they protect paws from winter ice and snow?

Yes, as tens of thousands of pet parents can enthusiastically agree.

What boot size is right for my pet?

Simply follow the instructions in our simple sizing guide to find out.

Will they cut off circulation in the ankle?

No. These boots fit snugly, but not so tight as to obstruct blood flow. They are not to be left on while your dog is resting or sleeping. They are typically worn while you are out with your dog, and are not intended to be left on all day.

Are they tall enough to fit over the dew claw?

Usually yes, but that depends on how high your dog’s dew claw happens to be. The boot does not have to cover the dew claw, but it should be as high up on the wrist as possible.

Will they stay on if I take my dog swimming?

Yes. And if you own a swimming pool, our boots will protect the liner from being torn.

Can my dog wear a boot over a bandage?

Yes, but you should choose an appropriate (larger) size that fits over the bandage. Do not leave it on while your dog is resting or sleeping. Use only while your dog is supervised.

What are they made from?

Pure, 100% biodegradable rubber. We tap the sap of sustainable rubber trees. The color is derived from vegetable dye. PawZ boots are non-toxic.

How long will these boots last?

That all depends on your dog’s activity level and the roughness of the terrain. We recommend filing their nails to help increase boot life.

How long can I keep them on my dog’s feet?

We generally recommend removing them after one hour.

How can I clean PawZ boots?

You can wash the boots with a mild soap, pat them dry and add a little corn starch or talc to safely absorb any additional moisture to restore the boots to their original state.

If I go up a size will the opening be bigger?

PawZ boots are designed to fit a dog’s paw anatomy. The opening of the boot goes up minimally as the size increases.  We recommend that you refer to the Sizing Guide to ensure the perfect fit.
